Time for an upgrade. Dec 12, 2002 I got this album years ago on cassette and quickally fell in love with it. This has some great cowboy classics. Chris LeDoux may not be the most popular country singer, but he is my favorite singer of all time! I Grew up listening to Chris LeDoux and this is album is teh shining star of my collection.

Excellent versions of some enduring story songs... Oct 01, 2008
By William E. Adams I have had most of these songs in recordings by singers such as Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Cisco Houston, Michael Martin Murphy, Ed McCurdy, Eddie Arnold, Peter LaFarge, etc. over the decades. The songs, mostly, are already old, so they never sound dated. They are the kinds of ballads you can enjoy hearing three times in a row, if you like this sort of thing at all. Chris did a wonderful job on this release, and probably never sounded better than he did here. I never was a big fan of his in life, just a casual one, but he filled a niche in the country/folk genre that was important to me. He is missed.
