3 1/2 Stars: Waylon's 'Duets' Mar 15, 2009
By A Music Fan
"jimmy wayne"
This 1983 release (at the dawn of the CD Age) features duets with a large number of influential artists, some expected (Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr.) and some not (Ernest Tubb, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed, Emmylou Harris, Tony Joe White). Mrs. Waylon, Jessi Colter, guests on one track, and even actor James Garner shows up on "I'll Find It Where I Can." This was the last of Waylon's albums to reach the top twenty on the pop charts. 'Waylon and Company' also peaked at #12 on the country charts. "I May Be Used (But Baby I Ain't Used Up)" and "The Conversation" charted as singles, reaching #4 and #15 on the country charts, respectively.
